01-31 HHSMB Blast Jan 31

If you know of incoming 8th graders who are interested in joining any of the Homestead Instrumental groups (Homestead Marching Band, orchestras, jazz, etc.) please pass the word and have them contact me so I can get them on email distribution for updates.  Let them know Mr. Burn will be meeting with 8th grade band and orchestra classes at CMS and SMS in February.

What you’ve all been waiting to see, the TENTATIVE plan for marching band summer rehearsals!  The keyword is TENTATIVE.  Please remember the band motto, FLEXIBILITY.

while i have your attention……

Volunteer Spot will have slots open for the Orchestra Festival concession table happening Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th.

I need 2 people for the following slots:

Friday, Feb 7th

First shift 2:45 pm – 5:30

Second shift  6:30-8:15 pm (one slot already taken, thanks Patti!)

Saturday, Feb 8th:

First shift 8:45-11:30 am

Second shift  12:30-2:15 pm

We will sell candy, soda, and water.  Nothing fancy, because Mr. Burn isn't allowing much time for groups to eat junk food.

We are shutting down concessions so everyone can attend the performance of Simply Three.

We need 1 or 2 volunteers to help set up dinner for the judges on Friday night at 5 pm.  We are ordering Chinese food, so it's basically setting up the delivered food.  Volunteers will be done by 5:30 pm, when the judges arrive.

We also need 1 or 2 volunteers to help set up for the judges’ lunch Saturday at 11, sandwich fixings.   They'll be eating around 11:30.    Volunteers would be done at 11:30 when the judges arrive.

Please follow this link to Volunteer Spot:

Please contact Vicki Feltman at Vicki.feltman@gmail.com if you can help or need more information.

NOTE – you don’t have to be an orchestra parent to volunteer for concessions at an orchestra event.  All monies go to music boosters to support all students participating in the Homestead music program.
