FREMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT MARCHING BAND EXPOSITION – OCTOBER 6th(Vicki Feltman)
The FUHSD Marching Band Exposition is an annual event showcasing the talents of district high schools in a non-competitive venue. Each band performs twice- once for the other bands in the afternoon, and once for the audience in the evening. It’s an awe-inspiring sight when 5 marching bands with color guard fill up the bleachers.Admission is $5 per person, with all proceeds split evenly. Since this show benefits all the schools, even volunteers pay the entry fee.The show starts at 7 pm. If you’d like to come and get a good spot to sit, chill with some yummy concession foods before the crowds get there, find a parking space, show up around 6.AND, in case you hadn’t noticed, there are a WHOLE BUNCH of volunteer opportunities that have popped up. Because Homestead is hosting the event this year. we expect big crowds. Lend a hand where you can, to show the other schools how it’s done. PARKING –
Please consider walking to Homestead for the field show expo. That’s one of the advantages of having the show at our school. No hassles with non-existent parking, no waiting in lines to make a turn into a filled parking lot. The faculty parking lot will be closed to all parking and reserved for trucks and buses supporting the other bands in the district. The Building F parking lot will be reserved for Handicapped parking. This means the only available parking will be the Student Parking lot and surface streets. If you need to drive, we recommend you park on Mary Ave on the other side of 280 and walk over on the pedestrian bridge.STUDENTS – We need all cars moved out of the faculty parking lot at lunch time. We need to keep it clear of all cars to allow buses and trucks to park. We have 5 school’s support vehicles and uniform carts and pit equipment to lay out.
